Napoli

Napoli, Nea Polis as the greek called it before the romans decided to run things in the meditterean, is located just a few kilometres from Vesuv and Pompeii. It was the Port of Call from where I adventured towards Pompeii. Not much to say about the city except they drive like maniacs. Every car had dents and scratches - no exception, and traffic rules was made to be broken. Cars parked everywhere.

Pisa - Italy

This Tower need no introduction. I had to see it when I was in Italy, but besides this tower and the sorrounding buildings, there was nothing else in Pisa.

Rome

Rome I’ve visited Rome, but only for a short time. I managed to see the Pantheon, The Spanish steps, The Vatican and some squares and monuments. Unfortunately I did not have the time to see Coliseum. I guess I have to visit again and next time make sure that I have more than a day available. I visited Rome as part of my cruise Tags: ,

Voyager of The Seas

I was on a Cruise in the Mediterranean from May 27nth to June 3rd 2006. I used to belive that cruises was for old people with blue and red hair, but I admit I was wrong. Cruise is for people in all ages. I recommend you all to try a cruise. You will not regret. Tags: , ,

Bergen, Norway

No, It's not Rohan :-) But it gives you a little hint about where Tolkien got his inspiration to create Rohan. It's an old wooden church, located in Bergen - my hometown. Since it have been little traveling the last months, I had to update my blog with something, and why not promote my own hometown. "The Gateway to the Fjords of Norway Welcome to Bergen, the old city with a young outlook. A city with its feet in the sea, its head in the skies and its heart in the right place - full of infectious enthusiasm, and happy to share it with visitors."

Copenhagen, Denmark

Copenhagen Denmarks Capitol. Friendly city with opportunities to shop, eat and drink well. A trip on the Canals is recommended for "first-timers" in the city.

Alanya, Turkey

Alanya, Turkey I was here on holliday in 1998. It's famous for it's Cleopatra Beach - according to legends the roman general imported sand from Egypt to this beach so that Cleopatra should feel at home. A nice city to visit, with old fortress, nice beach, good food and several turkish baths. Oh, everything is cheap, very cheap - especially textiles and leather products. It's possible to have a day trip up to the mountains and raft. From cat 4 to cat 6 rapids - with food and resting on the halfway.

Austria, Tirol

A former collegue went to Tirol, Austria for skiing. He simply wrote "Asle in Action, sun, snow, cheap drinks and lots of fun" on the back, stamped it and sent it. No need to waste time writing when having a good time.

Vermont & Washington D.C.

In 1997 I had a pen-pal that went to USA as an au-pair. She stayed with a family in Vermont. The card is stamped in "White River". During her year overseas, she also had a trip to Washington D.C. and was kind enough to send me a card from there aswell.

New York

I got this postcard from my girlfriend some time back. Notice the skyline - it's how it was supposed to be. I have not been to NY (yet), or any other state in USA. It is a place that i desire to visit very much, so it's more a question of time (and money) before I go there.
